My Account
My Account – our secure section for members of CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield and CareFirst BlueChoice plans. You will need information from your ID card to register, but registration is immediate. My Account features include:
- Medical Claims History
- Drug Claims History
- Who's Covered on your plan
- What's Covered (high level benefits)
- Drug Pricing Tool – can tell you how much a specific drug will cost when you go to pick it up at your pharmacy
- Hospital Comparison Tool – access to comparative quality information for specific medical procedures at specific hospitals
- MHIP HMO members can change their PCP online
- Send secure e-mail to member services
Billings and Payments
- As a new member, it is essential to pay your first invoice, found at the bottom of your approval letter, in order to activate your coverage.
- MHIP sends members monthly premium invoices.
- Should your income decrease during the year, you may qualify to enroll in MHIP+, which offers options that provide assistance with payments. To see if you qualify, fill out the MHIP+ Application and follow the instructions on how to submit.
Payment Procedures
Premium payments are due the first day of the month for which coverage is provided. Payments can be made by check or through eBilling.
Checks
- Checks should be made payable to "Maryland Health Insurance Plan."
- Write your MHIP member ID number on your check and include the payment slip from the bottom of the invoice. In order to ensure that your payment is properly applied to your account, always include your member ID number on your check.
- Mail checks to the address provided on the invoice.
eBilling
As a member, you can save time and take advantage of our online billing system called eBilling. With eBilling you can:
- Set up recurring monthly payments with your checking account
- View and pay your monthly bill online 24 hours a day, 7 days aweek
- Check the status of your payment and any outstanding balances
- End the hassle of buying stamps and the worry of getting your payment in the mail on time.
Members can set up an eBilling account through My Account located at www.carefirst.com/myaccount.
Options Discount Program
As a member of a CareFirst plan, you have access to discounted health and wellness services through the Options Discount Program. The program includes discounts on health clubs, acupuncture services, weight loss programs, and a variety of other services.
