Overview of MHIP Plans
MHIP Standard
A state health insurance plan that provides coverage to Maryland residents who are unable to obtain health insurance due to a health condition; or who have a qualifying condition, or who have recently lost group coverage and exhausted their right to continuation of that coverage. Individuals who are eligible for Medicaid, Medicare, employer-sponsored coverage or any other comparable insurance plan are not eligible for MHIP Standard. Plan options:
- HMO Plan
- $500 PPO Plan
- $1,000 PPO Plan
- $2,600 High Deductible Health Plan (HDP)
- HealthyBlue Triple Option
MHIP+
MHIP+ provides discounted premiums and, in some cases, discounted cost sharing to MHIP members with limited income. Plan options:
- HMO Plan
- $200 PPO Plan
- $500 PPO Plan
